GiGi walked Chocco up and down the street for 37 minutes. He is a young pup that is still exploring the outdoors. GiGi worked on having Chocco focus on her instead of the ground, not to walk ahead and pull on the leash, and she throws in some obedience (e.g. Sit, Stay, Ok). Although they didn’t walk far, this half hour session wore the little puppy out and he was ready for a nap. Staying on the same street also lessens distractions.
We encourage all of you to walk your dogs with a mission, a purpose. Don’t just let them sniff and drag you to where they want to go. Have them walk obediently from Point A to Point B. Then they can earn some time for a sniff break.
