Man’s Best Friend

Man’s Best Friend

It has been years since Ammo would spend time with patients at a local convalescent home.  Since the pandemic began, he’s not only comforted us on the blatant stressful times, but he’s really picked up on our subconscious feelings as well.  He knows that I don’t need anything when I cry during a Hallmark movie.  In fact, you will find him in his fort snoring loudly.  But when I cry while watching a livestream of a loved one’s memorial service that I couldn’t attend, Ammo is guaranteed to not leave my side and put his head on my lap.  This is not a trick that we’ve taught him.  This can happen when you develop a solid bond with a dog.

Tom & I were going over EOY finances and determining 2022’s prices & programs.  The more we realized that we had to raise our prices because of the crazy hyperinflation of everything in CA, the more Tom would stress.  He hates raising prices and would love to help EVERYONE live peacefully with their dogs if he could.  This photo captured Ammo picking up on his anxiety and causing Tom to sit back and smile.  Sometimes we don’t realize when we’re stressed or that we’re subconsciously thinking about loved ones too sick and living too far away.  But if we pay attention to Ammo’s actions and behaviors, we self-reflect and can take a moment to figure out how to resolve our stress.

A+ Dog Training practices the art of mindfully reading a dog’s behavior.  We can help you learn how to communicate with your dog and develop a bond that runs so deep you’ll know why you are best friends.  Here’s to a new year & new memories with our four-legged friends!
