Keep It Simple & Enjoy Life

One of GiGi’s strengths is that people gravitate to follow her lead.  As much as she refuses to be put into a leadership role, God continues to place her there in every aspect of her life.  That is why A+ Dog Training is so blessed to have GiGi leave her 15-year career as an elementary teacher and manage the family business full-time.

A weakness that she is working on is her issues with control.  Some might call this a strength because when she accepts to lead, her controlling “weakness” causes her to give 110% with due diligence and you can count on her to cover every minor detail many people would miss.

When the pandemic hit and A+ Dog Training was without an income for several months, GiGi was unable to control the financial budget & bookkeeping she was used to working on daily.  To keep sane, her focus had to be directed on something else.  With the encouragement/suggestion from her best friend, GiGi began budgeting her calories.  Her bookkeeping was now focused on the calories she consumed and trying to stick to a certain amount.

When the veterinarian tells you that your dog is overweight, your instincts are not to find the latest workout routine and feed your dog smoothies.  You just walk your dog more and give them less food (less calories).  Simple.

A+ Dog Training keeps things simple and relates how you train & love your dog with how you live & love your life.

So as GiGi enjoyed ALL the foods she wanted – just in smaller portions – she lost 35 pounds.  GiGi has a newfound love for food.  Food no longer makes her feel guilty.  Food actually helped her feel better and stronger.  This is very different from the fad diets she’s tried throughout adulthood.  It’s been two months and she’s been able to maintain her weight – all while still eating McDonald’s when Tom suggests it!

As you plan your healthy goals for 2022, remember to keep it simple and enjoy life!
