What better way to train your dog for awesome summer trips with your family than by taking small steps at the Hughson Fruit & Nut Festival? It’s close to home, so figure out how to travel safely on a trip with your dog in the car and when to take your dog aside at the event to go potty (being mindful of where the garbage cans are). Practice declining people politely if your pup isn’t ready to be petted. Practice having your dog walk next to you on a short leash and sit beside you as you shop at each booth.
The festival is free and pretty much all day, so bring your kids first, then go back and bring the dog if that’s an easier way to manage things. A+ Dog Training will be available to answer anyone’s questions. What an opportunity to train your dog in public! You got this!
