Dogs, Walks, Poems, & People

Dogs, Walks, Poems, & People

I walk Colt & Ruger three days a week around their neighborhood.  This year I noticed an elderly gentleman sitting on his front porch, soaking in the morning sunshine.  He wasn’t always out front to wave hello to, but I did notice that he was out there more often this year than last.

One day I decided to not just wave as I walked by.  I stopped to ask his name.  Rod was excited for me to stop, and he asked me if I enjoyed poems.  He gave me a book that his wife had written.  His wife of over 50 years who recently passed away at the beginning of this year.

I brought the book home and decided to read a poem a day to Tom.  Tom and I enjoyed the poems and getting to know this woman we never met yet passed by her house 3x a day for the past seven years.  And now when we walk by and see Rod out front, soaking in the morning sunshine, we don’t just exchange waves but stop to share a few kind words with each other.

The people we meet and the connections we make are why we love A+ Dog Training so much.  Happy Saturday, Everyone!
