Happy Tongue Out Tuesday from these two cool dogs Duke & Hank!
Tomorrow is our final session in our A.K.C. Canine Good Citizen Class held at Pet Supplies Plus in Turlock, California. This five week course prepares dogs for their Canine Good Citizen exam or on becoming a well-mannered dog/citizen in general. A lot of it was dog obedience training, but with all of the distractions in the nice, air-conditioned store these pups worked on their behaviors as well. Congratulations to all of the graduates!
Jorge, the six month old mini Aussie, would like to remind all puppy owners out there to join us for July’s Puppy Social held at Taylor ER Veterinary in Turlock, California.
The Puppy Social is from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. and costs $25 or free for those on Taylor ER’s Puppy Plan. Cash or check may be made out to A+ Dog Training.
Allow your puppy to meet new people and other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. This social is for puppies who aren’t fully vaccinated and up to one year of age. All sizes and breeds welcomed. Ask a professional dog trainer questions about puppy management and understand what good vs bad play looks like.
Annie, Barley, and their BFF Sybbie came all the way from Oakdale, California to join A+ Dog Training on June’s Pack Walk. Look at how happy these two Bernese Mountain Dogs look after their morning parade around CSU, Stanislaus in Turlock, California.
Our next Free Community Pack Walk is this Saturday, July 14th at 9:00 A.M. We meet at the corner of Monte Vista Ave. & Crowell Road at CSUS in Turlock.
Come & go as you please. We only ask that you bring bags for waste, a non-retractable leash, and that one person handles one dog at a time.
There were a total of 30 dogs that attended June’s Pack Walk and twice as many humans!
Our next Free Community Pack Walk will be this Saturday, July 14th at 9:00 A.M. We meet at the corner of Monte Vista & Crowell Road at CSU, Stanislaus.
The cost is free. Anyone can bring their dog and come and go as they please. We only ask that you bring bags for waste (we’ll be checking if you have some before we walk), a non-retractable leash, and handle only one dog at a time. So, if you’ve got more than one dog at home make sure you find a handler for each of them when you come.
Questions to consider:
- Is your dog non-reactive to strange or loud noises?
- Is your dog friendly towards strangers and other pets?
- Does your dog bark obsessively while you are away?
- Can your dog Sit or Down Stay while you are at the front desk or in a line?
- Can your dog take a crowded elevator or follow you up/down the hotel stairs without pulling while you carry luggage?
- Does your dog know not to chew on furniture and understand the command Leave It?
If you’ve already tried to go on a mini vacation with your dog and realized that they could use a little fine tuning, then give us a call. Our services are geared for your goals in mind. We offer classes for obedience, private training sessions for behavior or specific goals, and monthly pack walks to help socialize your dog. It’s not too late! These skills will be needed when the winter holidays come.
During Annie’s Board & Train stay with A+ Dog Training, Tom and GiGi worked on calming Annie down so that it’s easier for her owners to put the harness on before they head outdoors.
Follow Annie on A+ Dog Training’s Facebook Page. You’ll find an album of her stay with us and various video clips of her training.
